As we embrace the month of November, it’s the perfect time to reflect on what whole body health truly means. It goes beyond just nutrition and exercise; it encompasses a blend of elements that contribute to our overall well-being.
SOCIAL WELLNESS
Our sense of connection and belonging plays a vital role in our health. Engage with your loved ones, build relationships, and nurture your social circle. Remember, we are happiest when we feel connected to others.
Community walks, lunch with family, friends or group fitness training.
You can even visit your local dark park, with or without a dog :)
MENTAL WELLNESS
Clarity of mind is essential for living our best lives. Focus on activities that enhance your mental acuity. Practice mindfulness, stay organised, and embrace learning to boost your mind power. Tackle that messy bedroom or pantry. Clean you car or organise your Tupperware. Sit in the sun, watch the trees... so many relaxing activities you can do. You will be surprised the ripple effect of these simple little things.
PHYSICAL WELLNESS
How we feel in our bodies can significantly influence our mental state. Invest time in activities that energize you and promote physical vitality—whether it’s through exercise, movement, or rest. Take up that water aerobics class you have thought about. Join your local gym or sign up to that online platform with home workouts you have been thinking about :)
ENVIRONMENTAL WELLNESS
Our surroundings have a profound impact on how we feel. Create a space that is safe, nurturing, and inspiring. Surround yourself with positivity and remove any unnecessary clutter from your environment. This can feel tricky but the more you enforce these boundaries the easier it will feel. You are responsible for who you allow into your sacred bubble. Say 'no' more. You are allowed to need time away from people you love. YOU ARE ALLOWED to need time away from people you love.
EMOTIONAL WELLNESS
Understanding and processing our emotions is vital for our mental health. Take a moment to check in with how you’re feeling. Journaling, meditating, or speaking to someone you trust can help you navigate your emotional landscape. I enjoy emailing myself and others and saving it to draft. There is a immense relief after doing this. Externalising you inner feelings feels amazing.
EXISTENTIAL WELLNESS
Cultivating a sense of gratitude, purpose, and joy can bring immense fulfillment. Reflect on what gives your life meaning and engage in practices that strengthen your connection to your core values.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO COME HOME TO YOURSELF.
When we neglect these aspects of our well-being, it’s easy to feel like something is missing.
This month, I encourage you to take stock of these areas in your life. Reflect on where you can grow, and rework your wellness plan to uncover the best version of yourself.
It’s your time to shine and focus on YOU. Embrace the journey towards holistic whole body health and remember that every small step counts.
